Extension of the time limits of certain compliances to provide relief to taxpayers.

Your association SIMA is forwarding herewith the Circular No. 09 of 2021 issued by Central Board of Direct Taxes, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India vide letter No. 225/49/2021-ITA-II, dated 20/05/2021.
As per the circular, the Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the time limits of certain compliances to provide relief to taxpayers in view of the severe pandemic Covid-19. The Central Board of Direct Taxes, in the exercise of its power under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, provides relaxation in respect of the following compliances:
1) The Statement of Financial Transactions (SFT): for the Financial Year 2020-21, required to be furnished on or before 31st May 2021 under Rule 114E of the Income-tax Rules, 1962 (hereinafter referred to as "the Rules") and various notifications issued thereunder, may be furnished on or before 30th June 2021........To view the Circular, PLEASE CLICK HERE.
