To allow employees to cast their votes in Silvassa Municipal Election without deducting wages
Dear all,
We are in receipt of Circular No. LEO/SMC/ELECTIONS/2016/74, dated 19th January, 2016, issued by Hon'ble Labour Commissioner DNH. The scanned copy of the said circular is attached herewith.
Considering the general election of Silvassa Municipal Council, which is scheduled to be held on 07.02.2016 from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm., the employer of Industrial / Shop / Commercial establishment are directed to allow the Registered Voters employed with them, to exercise their right to cast their votes, either by way of coming late or to leave early or a short absence on that day for casting their vote.
In any circumstances, the employer shall not deduct wages or any part thereof from their employees' wages on their absence on the day of poll.
All the colleague industries are hereby requested to adhere the directions of Hon'ble Labour Commissioner.
