Dear all,

Your association SIMA, on 16th July 2016 forwarded the Notification No G.S.R, 320(E) dated 18th March 2016 issued by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change. As per the said notification Ministry has amended the Plastic Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2011. Accordingly now all the manufacturers of Plastic material, Stockist and persons engaged in Storage/Transportation/Processing/Disposable of plastic waste has to ensure that no damage is caused to the environment during this process. In case of recycle of plastic it is to be ensured that such recyclable plastic waste is channelized to the recycler. As per the amended rule disposable of non-recyclable plastic waste is carried out in accordance with the guideline issued by the CPCB,

In this regard Member Secretary, Pollution Control Committee, DD & DNH has issued a Circular No. PCC/DDD/PWR-16/(Part-II)/16-17/415 dated 14/07/2016, the scanned copy of which is enclosed herewith, has issued the direction to every local body for development and setting up ofinfrastructure for segregation, collection, storage, transportation, processing and disposal of the plastic waste either on its own or by engaging agencies or producers.

The copy of Notification issued by Pollution Control Committee is enclosed herewith. So you are requested to go through the Circular issued by the Member Secretary, Pollution Control Committee, DD & DNH and also go through the Notification No. G.S.R. 320(E) issued by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. All the concerned persons are therefore requested to adhere the direction issued by local Pollution Control Committee and they are also requested to follow the guideline and rules prescribed and notified by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change vide Notification No. G.S.R(E).
