Notification in respect of Eco Sensetive Zone around Wildlife Century
Dear members,
Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has issued a notification no. S.O.2927(E) dated 17th November, 2014 in exercise of power conferred by sub-section (1), read with clause (v) and clause (xiv) of sub-section (2) and sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986). The scanned copy of the said draft notification is attached herewith.
By the said draft notification Central Government has notified that, it has become necessary to specify certain areas around the Dadra and Nagar Haveli Wildlife Sanctuary as Eco-sensitive Zone and to prohibit industries, operations or processes or class of industries, operations or processes in the said Eco-sensitive Zone. Accordingly the Central Government has proposed to notify and area up to One Hundred Meters (100 Meters) from the boundary of the protected area of Dadra and Nagar Haveli Wildlife Sanctuary as Eco-sensitive on all sides or up to the right of way (Sanctuary side) of an existing road passing near the Sanctuary, whichever is less, as an Eco-Sensitive Zone.
The Central Government has also identified and proposed the various activities, which shall be prohibited or regulated or promoted in the said Eco-sensitive Zone which shall be govern by the Provisions of Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986).
You all are requested to go through the said draft notification and file your objection in writing, on or before 15th January, 2015 (60 days from the date of notification i.e. 17th November, 2014) to the Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, Jorbagh Road, Aliganj, New Delhi-110 003 or at e-mail address:- esz-mef@nic.in
