Increase in Special Allowance under the Minimum Wages Act
Dear Industrial Colleagues,
This is to inform you that, Deputy Secretary (Labour), Labour Department, Dadra & Nagar Haveli has issued a Notification No. LEO/MWA/SA/565/2016, dtd: 11/05/2016. The scanned copy of the said notification is enclosed herewith for your kind reference.
The key feature of the notification is enhancement of the minimum wages with effect from 01/04/2016 and the new minimum wage i.e. basic and special allowance payable to skilled, semi skilled and unskilled employees employed in the schedule employments in whole of Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli is Rs. 293.70, Rs.285.70 and Rs. 277.70 respectively.
Note:- "if the wages already paid are higher, the same should be continued"
So, all the colleague industries are hereby requested to pay the minimum wages as prescribed and notified in the said notification.
So, all the colleague industries are hereby requested to adhere the notification in its true letter and spirit.
