Dear all,
We have received feedback from number of our industrial colleague that, they are shocked on receipt of exorbitant electric bill for the month of October 2016 from DNHPDCL. On analysis of the bill it is observed that in last quarter bill, the DNHPDCL had recovered Rs. 0.67 paisa per unit as FPPCA charge. But in recent bill of October 2016, the DNHPDCL has charged Rs. 1.30 paisa per unit as FPPCA charges without proper justification and explanation. Such huge electricity charges and FPPCA charges has caused very adversely to the industrial sector and now the existence of MSME units in Dadra & Nagar Haveli are at risk.

It is very high time for all of us to standup, unite and fight for our existence, otherwise the industries and particularly MSMEs of this territory will have to shut down their operation as the only advantage of low power cost shall be extinguished and MSME units will not be able to compete at National and International level.

For this, after  consultation with other associations and Federation of Industries Associations, it is decided that entire industrial sector shall protest for this unfair and excessive hike in power charges. The Federation of Industries Associations are in touch with legal consultant to examine the issue and challenge the recovery of excessive power charges at appropriate legal forum.  Simultaneously the delegations of Federation of Industries Associations met Managing Director, DNHPDCL and have requested to share the formula for fixing FPCCA charges with the representative of industries to assure that, the FPPCA calculation is proper and DNHPDCL has not added any other component in the calculation.

All the three associations and Federation of Industries Associations have already initiated the agitation against the unfair and prejudice approach of DNHPDCL towards MSMEs and small consumers. In mean time it is hereby requested to all fellow colleagues not to haste in payment of October 2016 electricity bill and if any colleague industry pay the bill, please pay the bill UNDER PROTEST with right to recover the excessive amount which may have collected by DNHPDCL in form of excessive FPPCA charges.

All colleague industries shall be updated by your association SIMA on any development in the issue.  All the colleague industries are requested to inform the neighbor industries about this burning issue and assure that entire industrial sector in Dadra & Nagar Haveli are updated in this regard.

Thanking you,
With regards,

For Silvassa Industries & Manufacturers Association

Narendra Trivedi,
Secretary
