215th meeting of the Central Board of Employee Provident Fund Organization.

215th meeting of the Central Board of Employee Provident Fund Organization was held on 19th November 2016 at Bangaluru under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Union Minister of State for labour and employment Shri Bandaru Dattatreya. In the said meeting various key decisions were taken by the board.
Taking into consideration the various factors the Central Board decided to recommend 8.65% interest to its subscribers for the year 2016-2017. This interest rate will be updated in the accounts of subscribers on acceptance by the government
It was also decided that special campaign will be run for online enrollment facilities to workers and special windows will be provided from 01/01/2017 to 31/03/2017. In nominal rate of levy of damages from the establishment for payment of contribution for the past period will be Rs. 1/- per annum for enrollment during the campaign. During the campaign any employer may send declaration for membership of the employees who were required or entitle to become members of the fund on or after 1st day of April 2009 but before the 1stday of January 2017 who could not be enrolled for any reason.
Your association SIMA is enclosing herewith the press release of the said meeting which elaborates the details of the various issues of the campaign which will run from 1st January 2017 to 31st March 2017.
So all the colleague members are requested to go through the press release and take the benefit of the campaign to ensure that all the eligible employees are enrolled in the scheme and regularize.
