Dear Industries Colleagues,

As you know that, as per the order or Hon'ble Supreme Court,  the development and other activities were stopped and was kept in abeyance from 10 KM from the boundary of wildlife sanctuaries in  Dadra & Nagar Haveli and hence entire development of this territory became standstill.

SIMA and colleague  associations took up the  matter with the appropriate authority under the able leadership of Shri Natubhai G Patel, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Dadra & Nagar Haveli to resolve the issue. Our Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli also put its best efforts to remove the hurdles and to give boost to the industrialization and development of this area. Shri Natubhai G Patel, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Dadra & Nagar Haveli continued his efforts at every level and ultimately he succeeded to convince the Ministry of Environment and Forest, that for development of Dadra & Nagar Haveli the Eco-Sensitive Zone up to 100 meters distance from wildlife sanctuaries shall be adequate and shall help the territory to move forward on the path of development. This 100 meters will also help the tribal, having small holding of the land, to sustain their existence.

Ministry of Environment and Forest adopted a positive attitude and after due consideration and on completion of other legal formalities has reduced the Eco-Sensitive Zone from 10 KM to 100 Meters. This decision has been taken by MOEF in the interest of people, trade, industries of this area.

Finally the Notification dated:04/09/2015 bearing No. SO.2413 (E) has been issued and now under this notification, in Dadra & Nagar Haveli, the development and other activities are permitted around wildlife sanctuaries by maintaining 100 Meters Eco-Sensitive Zone.

Even in 100 Meters, the small tribal and farmers are permitted to carry out specific activities with certain restrictions. So, the tribal shall also be able to utilize his entire land, and can earn his bread and butter. This notification shall prove a boon to the people of this territory.

On behalf of our colleague industries, I convey my sincere thanks and appreciate the efforts of Shri Natubhai G Patel, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and his entire team.
