Dear all,

We are pleased to share that vide Letter Ref. No. RA-40I/2/2023/54 dated 06.05.2026 issued by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) for the State of Goa and Union Territories, Shri Atul Shah, President, Silvassa Industries & Manufacturer Association (SIMA) and Federation of Industries Association (FIA) has been nominated as a Member of the State Advisory Committee (SAC) of JERC.

About State Advisory Committee (SAC):
The SAC is constituted under Section 181 read with Section 87 of the Electricity Act, 2003 and JERC (State Advisory Committee) Regulations, 2009, to represent the interests of commerce, industry, transport, agriculture, labour, consumers, NGOs and academic bodies in the electricity sector.

Key objectives of SAC:
- Advise the Commission on major issues of policy
- Matters relating to quality, continuity and extent of service by licensees
- Compliance by licensees with license conditions
- Protection of consumer interest
- Electricity supply and overall standards of performance by utilities

The term of a Member is two years. The Chairperson of JERC is the Ex officio Chairperson of SAC.

This nomination provides direct representation for the industrial community of DNH & DD before the Commission on all regulatory matters affecting power tariffs, quality of supply, and consumer interests.

We congratulate Shri Atul Shah on this nomination and are confident that he will effectively represent the concerns of our industrial fraternity.
