Dear all,

Your association SIMA is forwarding herewith a Notice issued by Hon’ble Member Secretary, Pollution Control Committee, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Silvassa vide letter No. PCC/DDD/ETP/DNH/18-19 dated 07/12/2018 regarding Installation and Functionalization of Effluent Treatment Plants by the Industries involved in manufacturing of Air Texturised Yarn.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court had passed an order 22.02.2017 in the matter of Panyavaran Suraksha Samiti Vs Union of India (WP (C) No. 357/2012 ) with direction that, all the trade effluent generating industrial running without Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) shall install Effluent Treatment Plant and make it operational within three months from the date of the order i.e. 22.02.2017 failing which the defaulting industries shall be closed down and their power / water supply shall be disconnected by the Pollution Control Committee.

Therefore, Pollution Control Committee, DNH directed all the industries which are involved in  manufacturing of Air Texturised Yarn in the UT of DNH  to obtain a valid consent from the PCC for manufacturing of Air Texturised Yarn and to install an efficient Effluent Treatment Plant in their premises to treat the generated trade effluent as per the PCC norms, within 30 days from the date of issue of this notice, failing which Pollution Control Committee will initiate legal action, including sealing /closure of the defaulting industrial units and disconnection of power supply and water supply to industrial plant without any further notice

All the colleague industries who are engaged in  manufacturing of Air Texturised Yarn, are requested to follow the direction of the PCC, DNH in its true letter and spirit.
