Dear all,
The Department of Industries, U.T. of DNH & DD, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and in association with Silvassa Industries & Manufacturers Association (SIMA) successfully organised a Pre Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet Session on 'How to Meet and Deal with International Buyers & Opportunities for MSMEs in Exports' on 17th April 2026 at Kala Kendra Auditorium, Silvassa.
The session was conducted by Mr Mihir Shah, Advisor & Consultant in International Business, who shared practical strategies for MSMEs to enter global markets.
Key Takeaways:
- Why Export: Build global brand, expand beyond domestic market, earn foreign exchange, hedge import costs.
- Product Selection: Ensure global demand, profitability, product range, market relevance, and adequate capacity.
- Product Adaptability: Adapt to climate, culture, size/colour specs, customer needs, and technology.
- Trade Connect Portal: Use http://www.trade.gov.in for product-wise demand, trade trends, and market data.
- Finding Markets: Check logistics cost, FTAs with India, target EU/GCC/African Union, and use ITC Trade Map http://www.trademap.org for statistics.
- Connecting with Buyers: Use networks, regular follow-ups, face-to-face meetings, agents abroad, trade fairs, delegations, RBSMs, and strategic advertising.
The session stressed that export success depends on building lasting relationships, understanding global expectations, and adapting to changing markets.
Members are encouraged to use these platforms and tools to strengthen their global footprint.
Thanking you,
With regards,
