Your association SIMA is forwarding herewith a Gazette issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, dated 19/12/2019.
As you all are aware that, both the houses i.e. Loksabha and Rajya Sabha have passed the bill for the merger of Union Territories “Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu”. In exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (Merger of Union Territories) Act, 2019 (44 of 2019), the Central Government hereby appoints the 26th January 2020 as the date on which the provisions of the said Act shall come into force.
