Extension of the time for filling e-returns and Audit report upto 31st October 2015 - important

Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes has released a press release today, i.e on 1st October 2015, the copy of the said Press Release is attached here with.
As per the Press Released, the date of filing of Income Tax Returns and Audit Report was due on 30th September 2015. The said issue of last date for E-Filing returns of Income Tax and Audit Reports was subject matter of litigation in various High Court across the country. Some of High Court have ruled in favor of the extension of due date, some other have ruled otherwise.
In order to avoid discrimination between tax payers residing in different jurisdiction, the Government has decided that all the returns of Income Tax and Audit Report under section 44 AB, which were due for E-filing by 30th September 2015, now may file lastest by 31st October 2015.
