U.T. Level Workshop on “Leveraging FTAs
Dear Members,
We wish to inform you that Department of Industries, District Industries Centre (DIC), Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Silvassa has issued Letter No. DIC/14(32e)/2026/801 dated 17/10/2026.
The Department of Commerce, Government of India is organizing a State / U.T. Level Workshop on “Leveraging FTAs – Outreach Programme” in Silvassa in partnership with the Industries Department, U.T. of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
Workshop Details:
- Date: Friday, 30.10.2026
- Time: 10:00 AM onwards (Full day event with mid-session lunch)
- Venue: Kala Kendra, Opposite Bal Udhyana, Silvassa – 396230
Objective of Workshop:
The workshop has been designed to prepare exporters to avail all FTA benefits, to disseminate information about products with high export potential in these markets and also to hear from exporters about various bottlenecks encountered while shipping goods under FTAs, because though tariffs are nil, there may be other non-tariff barriers such as Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) and Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards (SPS).
Request from DIC to SIMA:
To have a fruitful discussion and better outcomes, SIMA is requested to:
1. Ensure senior-level representation at the workshop from at least 15-20 exporters among SIMA's members based in DNH & DD.
2. Nominate two resource persons from our organisation to moderate the sectoral break-out sessions.
3. Identify one exporter who can share a success story in utilizing the FTA to start/increase his exports to countries with whom India signed FTA recently.
This is a very important workshop for all export-oriented industries to understand provisions of FTAs, identify relevant opportunities and resolve issues.
All export oriented members are requested to confirm participation and to volunteer as Resource Person / Success Story Speaker.
